DPP Demands Transparency in Passport Contract Awarding"

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is urging the government to disclose information about a passport supply contract awarded to a local firm, E-Tech Systems. In a statement, DPP spokesperson Shadric Namalomba expressed concerns that the company has ties to Malawi Congress Party members and lacks the capacity to supply passports. Namalomba alleged that the contract was awarded unfairly, putting Malawians at a disadvantage, and questioned the secrecy surrounding the procurement process.

The DPP is calling on the Office of the Attorney General to investigate the matter. Namalomba suggested that the cancellation of the previous passport printing contract with Techno Brain was not done in good faith.

In response, Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu stated that the government is willing to share information about the contract with the public. He dismissed claims that E-Tech Systems is linked to MCP members, citing the company's capability to supply passports, which they have already begun issuing.

Note: I made some minor changes to the original text to improve clarity and readability, including rephrasing sentences and adding transitions to connect ideas. The title I suggested summarizes the main point of the story, which is the DPP's demand for transparency in the passport contract awarding process.
