Chris Chaima Banda's Vision for MCP: Building from the Ground Up"
Chris Chaima Banda, who was a presidential aspirant for Malawi's ruling party, the MCP, has proposed that the party should have vibrant grassroots structures, starting from the villages and constituencies.
Chaima Banda articulated these views as he outlines his plans {manifesto} while vying for the top leadership position within the party.
MCP is gearing up for its major convention in August this year.
According to Chaima Banda, if elected, he intends to overhaul certain aspects of the party to ensure that its finances are put to proper use.
"I have a burning desire for the party to move forward. If I win, I will make changes within the party; I want unity, and party members should not be complainers," Chaima Banda said.
Chaima Banda, who has been actively setting up MCP offices across the country, also donated a minibus to the party's women's wing, led by Mai Manjamkhosi.
Meanwhile, Eisenhower Mkaka, the party's secretary general, and others showing interest in the leadership position include Simplex Chithyola Banda and Alex Major.
